Teaching on the Illustration course at Sheffield Hallam 🍃
Last November (which ended this January 2018) I was invited to teach the 2nd year illustration students at Sheffield Hallam & set a brief that would prepare & help them understand the industry. We set the project Biophlia, which means a love of all things Botanical 🌱 (this fitted nicely with the shop environment) and is currently so on trend (so meant there were lots of topics for research)
I am not going to lie, taking two days a week out of the shop (during my busiest time of year was a little mad) Thank goodness for amazing staff.
The students were full of ideas. We discussed all the elements of the botanical, ranging from science to wellbeing. We set up collectives, got them started on their instagram & webshops.
Then it was all about make, make & Make!
Part of brief was to have a one night pop up exhibition at MoonKo, Where I would transform the entire shop in one evening, no mean feat! We did it & they sold loads, where 100% cash went back to the students.
Check out the pictures, you can see lots more on my Instagram as well @komoonko
